The dummy and sleep
Dummies work so well for many babies. They can be a great comfort and instant settler and can have positive effects on your little ones sleep. Sometimes however, they can become a hindrance to not only your baby’s sleep but yours too!
If you are wanting to move away from using the dummy, an option could be to just use it for the initial settling to sleep and then use another method to settle them once their dummy falls out.
You could just stop using it altogether and use another consistent settling method, introducing a comforter for older babies could help.
For babies around 8 months, you can teach them to put the dummy back in by guiding their hand. Once they can do this, you could put a few dummies in their cot for them to find during the night.
