Nightmares- is your little one having them?
Nightmares can often be caused by over-tiredness, getting too hot and needing to wee!
When your little one hasn’t had enough sleep, it causes the brain to get busy during REM sleep. For older babies and toddlers and children, the bladder sends messages to the brain to start emptying it and can cause nightmares during deep sleep. If baby/toddler gets too warm, their body will try and cool itself down by emptying the bladder.
Being unwell, something that’s made them stressed or anxious and sudden noises at night can also all contribute to nightmares.
