Split Nights
What are they and why do they happen?
Split nights are when babies or children spend several hours awake during the night.
They aren’t upset instead they are pretty happy and alert and basically nothing you do will get them back to sleep!
To help with split nights;
Look at the amount of day sleep your little one is getting. Could it be too much?
Check they are spending the appropriate amount of time in bed overnight. Try not to let them have a lay in to make up for the time awake during the night (although the last thing we want to do is wake them up when we’ve been awake with them during the night!!)
Sometimes a bedtime that is consistently too early can cause split nights aswell.
It’s all about looking at your little one’s sleep over a 24 hour period and working out what needs tweaking and rebalancing. I can help you with this, book a discovery call to find out how.
